Why do I love natural deodorant so much? For MANY reasons. First, they do not contain  aluminum, parabens, fragrances, or many of the other nasty ingredients that cheaper deodorants are chalk full of. Second, they are GOOD for your skin and for your health. There have been studies that have also linked breast cancer and unnatural, store-bought deodorants. If you read studies on the link between breast cancer and deodorant application, many cite that the presence of aluminum in deodorant may have a link to breast cancer cell growth and development, but others state there is no relationship. Personally, I don’t understand how studies canRead More →

It’s that time of the month again! It feels like it was only a few days ago that I was writing up last month’s faves post, and now we’re a couple of days into May! April was another awesome month for great product discoveries, subscription boxes, and tons of food! Here are my faves that made the list: Subscription Box Yogi Surprise Why? The April Yogi Surprise box comes in as my favourite subscription box this month because of the useful items they continue to include in their boxes! I have already used the Toesox and the hand towel at least over 20 times each,Read More →

I recently signed up for an annual membership of hot yoga. I discovered the amazing practice about a year ago, but never signed up because I was too scared of the commitment and the price was increasingly more than paying for a simple gym membership. Recently, stress and the need to work out (including letting myself go) were huge factors in my decision to rekindle with yoga. I dipped my feet in, going to a few classes and then I finally decided to take the plunge and go for it. It was probably the best decision I have made in a loooong time. I LOVERead More →

I’ve reallllly been jumping on this whole natural/organic product thing lately. Making the switch to only ‘natural products’ is hard because for one, you don’t know if what you’re getting is really 100% natural or if it only contains natural properties, and it’s also much more convenient to buy cheap products at the grocery store and call it a day. I never even knew that there was a whole world full of these natural products right outside my door until about a year ago. I didn’t really care about what I put on my skin and I never stopped to think twice about what kindRead More →

With so many products on the market today, it can be really difficult to tell the difference between what is good and what is bad for us. There has been a vastly increasing need for healthy, ‘all-natural’ products so people can learn to live chemical-free lives and achieve optimal health. This is one key concept that Thu Vo realized when she started VO2CO- that there are so many hidden chemicals and additives that exist in skincare products that we use on a daily basis, and finding natural alternatives that don’t break your wallet is another challenge on its own. VO2CO VO2CO is a small batch company based in Toronto specializing in naturalRead More →

It’s my favourite time of the week- subscription box reviews! I have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of this lovely box shipped from Western Canada. I usually like to look for boxes that I can purchase that either support some kind of charity or carries items that are derived from small and local businesses. Fortunately for me, this box has both features! Every time you purchase a Calla Life Box, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to a deserving charity. I know in the past, the company has worked with “I Can For Kids” to help end childhood summer hunger. Cost: The boxRead More →
