I really like the organization of the box when you first open it. First, you find out what shops/companies are involved in this month’s Baker’s Krate, and then you receive another product card showing the baked goods, what they’re called and the ingredients in each product. I think it’s really important that subscribers know exactly what went into their treats, so this is nice to see!

The Pop Shop Cookies N’ Cream Crackcorn

To be honest I’m not a huge popcorn girl, it really depends what kinds of toppings are on my popcorn but Baker’s Krate killed it this month with this delicious cookies n’ cream popcorn. To me, it tasted like eating a much lighter version of an oreo!

BAKERY Queen Liz and Date Square

If you read the product description above, both of these baked goods have minimal ingredients and both contain dates, with the actual date square being much more simple in terms of ingredients. Both are a light and delicious snack, and really are not all that bad nutrition wise (excluding the sugar and butter of course). Delicious!

Butter Tarts to Die For PB Brownie Tart

I’m already a huge fan of butter tarts, so I didn’t have to think twice about digging into this peanut butter brownie tart first. This tart is also on the lighter side but encompasses both the PB and chocolate tastes perfectly. This was gone in minutes! I also love that the bakery is from Cambridge, ON which is so close to me!

Unity Baking Vanilla Sugar Cookie and Meringues

When I read that there were meringues in this box, it took me a while to figure out that they were in the package for this sugar cookie! This cookie is very light but delicious, and I tried to save it for a later time but it was just so good, I couldn’t help myself! I would have liked to see the meringues in a bigger size because they were so delicious, but atleast the shop is conserving extra packaging by including them with the sugar cookie! It also gives the consumer some variety in what they’re eating.

Final Thoughts

This was my first time trying out the Baker’s Krate ! I had heard wonderful things about this subscription in the past and I was honestly under the impression that they sent baking kits every months. I’m actually really happy that they instead send baked goods from local artisans. Not only does Baker’s Krate support local and small businesses, but they also allow subscribers to taste test a TON of local bakeries and see what they like best. This box also reminds us that it’s perfectly okay to take a break sometimes and enjoy a sugary treat!

I’m both impressed and happy that I got the pleasure of trying out Baker’s Krate and supporting some small businesses at the same time!
