It’s difficult to make a decision about which beauty subscription you want to ty out monthly when there are so many boxes out there and they all seem so similar! Anyone who loves subscription boxes probably has this problem once you discover the endless subscriptions that exist. So how you do you narrow it down to ONE?
I have tried many beauty boxes in the past but I landed on Ipsy and TOPBOX as my favourites, as they are arguably two of the most well-known and popular beauty subscriptions for makeup lovers. It also helps that TOPBOX releases Special Edition boxes PACKED full with products (Check out my February Special Edition box here). For this comparison, I purchased the February Ipsy and Topbox subscriptions because of the immense popularity of both, as well as months of research into beauty boxes and finding these two ranked fairly high with many other beauty bloggers.
Here is a chart to show a comparison of the two subscriptions:
|Ipsy Glam Bag||Topbox|
|Price||$10.00 + $4.00 shipping||$12.00|
|Ships to:||U.S., U.S. territories, Canada||Canada|
|Items:||5 products, full-sized + samples||4 deluxe samples|
Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipstick: Full size- $28.00
Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo: Full size- $24.00
CND Vinylux Weekly Top Coat: $11.95
St. Tropica Hot Oil Treatment Coconut Oil: $5.00
SOO AE Nature Collagen Essence Mask & SOO AE Purifying Black Charcoal Mask: $15.00
ABSOLUTE New York Nano Liner: $8.99
Luxie Beauty 514 Blush Brush: $18.00
NYX Butter Lipstick- Ripe Berry: $6.00
Luna Highlighter: $10.00
Both subscriptions clearly have amazing products. Both ring in at well over the value that you pay (despite TOPBOX including the sample versions and not the full-sized). For Canadians, TOPBOX ends up costing a little less because Ipsy is in US Dollars, and therefore costs about $20.00. However, Ipsy came with more products and more full-sized products.
I stared at both boxes for a good 10 minutes because I truly didn’t know how to decide between the two. For this month, I landed on Ipsy as the winner because I have used more products, they were full-sized and it came with 6 products to try out.
I still love TOPBOX and continue to receive my subscription every month. I’m sure there have been months where TOPBOX beat out Ipsy but for February, I was only slightly more fond of Ipsy!
