I have never heard of or even considered that apple cider vinegar could be something that is beneficial for health. Isn’t vinegar supposed to be sour, bitter and acidic? I mean, I guess it never crossed my mind that shooting vinegar in the morning was something people do, but apparently the health benefits of this organic cider blend are seriously off the charts. Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar
In my quest to find the best apple cider vinegar out there, I came across the brand Bragg. Not only are they famous for their apple cider vinegar, but the product is unfiltered, unpasteurized, and contains the mother of vinegar. The mother is a cellulose substance made up of various Acetobacter, which is a very acidic strain of bacteria. This combines with oxygen in warm air to cause fermentation in order to produce vinegar. It is the mother that gives the vinegar its characteristic sourness.
What caught my attention about Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar was the fact that the product is completely organic, gluten-free, non-GMO and Kosher-Certified.
I had read somewhere that people actually do shots of this stuff every morning for optimal health benefits. I was completely afraid of this at first seeing as a shot of vinegar doesn’t sound so appealing first thing in the morning, so I decided to try this out after eating dinner. I poured a literal gigantic shot of this bad boy into a shot glass intended for tequila, and I basically had a stomach ache for the remainder of my day. I later researched that you should avoid doing shots of this product due to its eroding properties on teeth enamel, and it also not being good for your stomach lining. Mixing 1-2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar with juice or water and drinking slowly would be best for those who want to take this on a daily basis.
Long-story short, buy organic, unfiltered apple cider vinegar if you want to achieve optimal results. The key rule of thumb to remember would be; the less filtered and processed, the better!
