This post may be coming a little late considering I have seen many people unbox and review this box already, but I am SO glad I found Boxycharm so I couldn’t wait to talk about it on my blog.
Boxycharm is a monthly subscription box that sends 5 FULL SIZED beauty products from different companies. They charge $21.00 / month not including tax or S&H, and there is free shipping on USA orders. I was searching for a while for a good make-up subscription box as many companies will ship only samples or mostly samples. There’s nothing wrong with this, but I wanted something that would deliver all full-sized products. You really can’t get much of a better deal than $21.00 for 5 products, let’s be honest.
My first impression of the box when I received it the day before Christmas Eve was how small it was. I was actually impressed by this because there’s no need to pack small products into a huge box, especially something as small as makeup. When I opened the box, I was slightly upset as there was some odd black crumbly substance that had seemed to have spilled all over my products. It didn’t effect the usage of my products because they were sealed on tightly but it was difficult to get off and it was clearly spilled over everything. I decided to look past this minor hiccup of my first experience of Boxycharm and give the box a go.
- OFRA Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick
I wasn’t expecting to find such a vibrant purple colour lipstick in my box but when worn on the lips, it comes on a lot darker than seen in the tube and it reminds me of a matte feel. There is also a touch of sparkle to this lipstick which makes it great for many occasions. I wore it for an entire day to test the ‘long lasting’ theory and it really did last all day, I tried to scrub it off at the end and it actually took some hard scrubbing to get off the lips.
- Butter London Nail Polish
I was very pleased (and usually am) with receiving nail polishes in my subscription make up boxes. It also helps that this lovely berry colour was sent with the December box and is perfect for the holidays. I was actually already wearing this colour when I opened the box.
- Beauty For Real Lip Revival Lip Scrub
I LOVED this product the second I opened it. It’s not often you find a product in these boxes that provides a scrub for your lips instead of a regular lip stick or lip colour. The scrub is a sugary-coconut flavour and can be easily rubbed onto the lips with as little or as much as the heart desires. Smells amazing and if you get this in your mouth don’t worry- it tastes pretty darn good too. I would definitely recommend putting this lip scrub on the lips before wearing lipstick.
- Pure Cosmetics Buff Collection
I was SO pleasantly surprised to have received this in my box. This beautiful eye shadow palette is valued at $50.00 and is pretty much the perfect tool to create your ‘night on the town” look or your daily work routine look. With shades from neutral to a sparkly purple, you will definitely be satisfied with these lovely colours.
- Thrive Cosmetics Brilliant Eye Brightener
I was also quite surprised to have received this eye brightener as it is a product I probably wouldn’t think of purchasing for myself, but also one that will definitely help to save the darkness around my eyes in the morning. This is also valued at $24.00 (more than the cost of the box) so you know you’re getting a quality product.
Value: This box altogether valued at over $100.00, and I can’t emphasize enough how amazing this deal is for 5 full sized products from good companies.
Overall: Aside from the black dust massacre that happened when I opened the box, I was very impressed with my box, especially the value of each product and the quality that each product brings. After I try a box for the first time, I usually have a good impression of whether I will be receiving it again or not, and I can tell you that I will be receiving another BoxyCharm in the mail!
